King Nelson - President and CEO King joined Uptake Medical in April 2007 with over 25 years of medical device experience including 19 years with American Hospital Supply and Baxter International. He was Division President for Dade Diagnostics, Bentley Labs and Baxter's Perfusion Services from 1989-1999. He was CEO and President of VenPro Corporation, a medical device company focused on heart and venous valves. The heart valve business was acquired by Medtronic in 2003. Prior to joining Uptake Medical, King was CEO and President of Kerberos Proximal Solutions in 2005-2006 when FoxHollow Technologies acquired it. He serves on the Board of Directors for several early stage private medical device companies and Digirad Corporation. King graduated from Texas Tech University and has a MBA from The University of Miami. Robert L. Barry - Founder and Chief Technology Officer Bob founded Uptake Medical in December 2004 and served as CEO for two years. He led the company through successful early round funding including a series A round. He currently serves as CTO and leads the product and technology development for Uptake Medical. Prior to Uptake Medical, he co-founded CoAptus, a medical device company developing energy based solutions for patent foramen ovalis (PFO's). He also served for three years as Director of Product Development at Spiration, a medical device company with focus on emphysema and COPD disease. Bob also spent a number of years in product development with Boston Scientific, Pfizer, NAMIC and Universal Medical Instruments. He has over 20 US Patents and helped launch numerous medical devices in use today. Krista Mann - Chief Financial Officer Krista joined the company in May of 2006 and brings over 25 years of early stage and private company experience. She has served in a number of companies with focus on finance, accounting, business planning and strategic solutions. She was CFO of Adolfson Associates, an environmental consulting firm. She also served as principal and CFO of The Production Network, a firm focused on event planning and designs, which grew to over $12 million in annual revenue. She has served in other leadership capacities including Controller of the Seattle Sonics NBA team, Coopers and Lybrand and Bank of America. She is a certified public accountant and graduated from Indiana University. Mike Numamoto - Vice President of Marketing Mike joined Uptake Medical in March 2008 with over 20 years of medical device marketing experience in both startup and corporate settings. Most recently, Mike was Vice President of Marketing for Edwards Lifesciences heart valve therapy business unit. Prior to that, Mike was Director of Marketing for Venpro Corporation – a medical device company focused on heart and venous valve technologies; Director of Sales & Marketing for American Red Cross Tissue Services – a division focused on human tissue implant technology for orthopedic and cardiac applications; and Director of Marketing for Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine and his Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Pamela Simons, BSc, RT(R) - VP Clinical and Regulatory Affairs Pam joined the company in March of 2007 and is responsible for the worldwide efforts in clinical and regulatory affairs. She has spent over 15 years in the medical device industry and most recently as VP - Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at First Medical Corporation in Minneapolis. This medical device company was focused on device-based combination therapy for Chronic Hepatitis C infection. Pam also spent several years as Clinical Programs Manager for Boston Scientifics' TAXUS Express 2 Paclitaxel Eluting Coronary Stent System. She has Bachelors of Science in Radiologic Science from the University of North Carolina. [Back to Top] |
