How It Works
The InterVapor™ procedure has been designed for ease of use and a minimal learning curve. The steps for treatment are as follows:

Develop IP3™
The physician uploads a high-resolution CT scan of the patient’s lung to a dedicated website. An IP3 is developed based on the patient’s unique anatomy and is then sent wirelessly to the treatment physician on the dedicated InterVapor IP3 tablet PC.

InterVapor Treatment
The IP3 is a dynamic tool that guides the clinician through the InterVapor treatment. Using the IP3 in combination with live visual evaluation of the patient’s airways via bronchoscope, an InterVapor-trained pulmonologist can determine the most appropriate treatment segments. The complete procedure is usually completed within 30 minutes.

Post-treatment Natural Response
Following the procedure, patients typically remain overnight in the hospital for observation and may be discharged the next day. Patients are also prescribed a preventative course of antibiotics to avoid infection.
In response to the InterVapor procedure, the treated areas undergo an initial localized inflammatory response (LIR) – generally days one to 30 – followed by the body’s natural healing process of scarring and remodeling of the lung tissue – generally days 30 to 90.
